I'm 40. Still with my own hair and teeth.I was born and raised in the North of England where I studied graphic design and advertising for 4 years. (Son of a miner, all very Billy Elliot.) Then I moved South, to London, where I began my career as a professional creative copywriter in 1990.
Over the next decade I was lucky enough to work for some of the UK's top ad agencies, creating numerous national and international campaigns for all manner of blue-chip clients.
In 2000 I joined the board of the newly formed DLKW & Partners and played a key role in helping them achieve phenomenal new business growth. (We passed £100 million in billings in 4 years!)
Then, desiring a new challenge (having done the North and the South) I moved West - to start a new life with my lovely wife in Somerset.
Since relocating in 2004 I've continued to work for major marketing agencies (EMO, WAVV Rapp Collins, McCann Erickson). I've been a Head of Copy and a Creative Director of Copy. And I've continued writing for some very big brands. (And some not so big brands.)
By November 2009 I'd notched up 20 years in the industry. So I rewarded myself with a sabbatical.
Now I'm back: refreshed, re-invigorated and raring to go again. Only now I'm doing it for myself. And hopefully for you, if you get in touch.
